Department: Cottages

Reports To: Lodging and Front Office Manager

Supervises: n/a

Classification: Part-Time Casual Position


Job Summary (Essential Functions): Ensure the highest standards of sanitation are met for our overnight cottage facilities. Takes accountability for cleaning guest rooms with pride. Reports any maintenance issues, lost and found items or any other necessary details to leadership in their daily checklist. Ensure that adequate supplies are on hand and requisition forms are filled out for ordering purposes. Complies with all the safety and sanitary policies put forth by the club.

  • Neatly groomed and dressed in accordance with Oak Hill Country Club's appearance standards.
  • Exceptional communication abilities when interacting with associates, guests, clients and internal departments to build relationships.
  • Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers.
  • Must be able to work a flexible shift that includes early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extended shifts if needed. Expected to work x hours per week throughout the year and additional hours during event weeks.
  • All other duties as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Takes accountability for cleaning guest rooms with pride
  • Attends daily / weekly cottage meetings.
  • Stocks housekeeping carts and hand caddies.
  • Responsible for pre-inspection, pre-spot terry and linen prior to placing in cottage.
  • Stocks and maintains housekeeping closets.
  • Empties wastebaskets & ashtrays.
  • Wipes all windowsills, walls and light switches.
  • Vacuums rugs, floors and stairs.
  • Dusts all furniture and fixtures, indoors and outdoors.
  • Cleans walls, baseboards and floor.
  • Wipes mirrors and windows throughout entire cottage.
  • Restocks all stationary in each bedroom.
  • Makes each bed to standard, and replaces new linen for each new stay.
  • Removes soiled linen and places in appropriate linen bag.
  • Cleans, washes and sanitizes toilets, showers, and all bathroom fixtures.
  • Wipes down all glass on showers.
  • Restocks towels, wash cloths, soap, and other supplies and amenities.
  • Reports all missing items in room. (Hair Dryer, Ironing Board) etc..
  • Follows all safety and sanitary guidelines put forth by the club.
  • Reports when cleaning products are low to Lodging and Front Office Manager.
  • Follows all safety protocols.
  • Attends staff meetings.
  • Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Director.

Experience

  • Club, hotel, luxury resort or other hospitality industry housekeeping experience preferred.

Education

  • High school or equivalent education required.

Licenses and Special Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Able to meet and perform the physical requirements of the job and to work effectively in an environment that is typical of this position.
  • Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation to and from work.

Scheduled Shifts: Part-time casual position. Days and hours are based on club operations and weather conditions.
