Quality Engineers are core delivery team members responsible for the validation of functional and non-functional requirements implemented by a team. They are responsible for decomposing the functional and technical requirements created by Product Owners and Systems Analysts into test scripts. Quality Engineers raise defects as issues are identified and support the remediation process with teams.
Costco Travel is looking for a dedicated and experienced Quality Engineer to join the Engineer Productivity team to help us elevate our team to the next level, while having fun learning new technologies and solving complex problems for the organization. This role will be responsible for both designing and testing internal tools and automation. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, who works collaboratively with the scrum teams to leverage internal tooling to assure the highest member service experience.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Quality Engineer with a track record of delivering quality software solutions and the ability to apply their experience to new areas, or have significant experience testing large-scale, multi-system integrated applications. This candidate's experience will demonstrate that they have a solid understanding of Quality Assurance and Development best practices, know where and when to apply them, and know when flexibility within those guidelines is acceptable. This candidate must have a clear understanding of the software development methodologies and will have consistently delivered high-quality software solutions using various methodologies. This candidate will demonstrate solid technical skills which have served them to find, troubleshoot, and research problems and issues and bring them to closure. They will proficiently create and leverage tooling, automation solutions and procedures as one of the many skills in their QA toolkit.

ROLE
Designs effective internal tools and infrastructure including proof and concept development to support service-oriented architecture.
• Maintains and enhances existing internal and test tools and frameworks.
• Mentors and guides members of the team to increase skills and productivity within and outside of the team.
• Manages and prioritizes team back-log effectively with QA leadership team.
• Designs testing processes for continuous improvement.
• Executes and troubleshoots daily test runs on demand and communicate results to the organization.
• Improves existing continuous testing process to proactively find bugs during the release cycle.
• Drives adoption of standards and best practices for test tools and framework development, and automation.
• Discovers problems, analyzes, and mitigates quality risks.
• Assists in the definition of testing strategies and approaches for complex technical implementations.
• Partners with peers to develop test processes for CICD as well as meet deadlines and satisfy requirements.
• Leads the way by staying up to date with tools, trends, and technologies.
REQUIRED
• 6+ years' experience with Java development or any other object-oriented language.
• 3-5 years' experience with design test tools and infrastructure and system integration.
• Experience with microservice architecture and cloud technologies.
• Experience with React development.
• Experience with Mobile device automation (Appium).
• Experience working with Junit/TestNG, Maven, Git, JDBC, Rest Assured, Splunk, SoapUI, Jenkins, ADO.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting applications.
• Proficient with UI automation tools, ideally Selenium Web Driver.
• Working experience with Microsoft SQL and/or Transact-SQL
• Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

Pay Ranges:
Level 2 - $105,000 - $135,000
Level 3 - $130,000 - $160,000
