Costco In Spanish Jobs (NOW HIRING)

**This is On-call non-benefited position - Varying hours 7 days per week from 6am to 7:30pm**

Pay rates for Union positions are set in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU Local 521. Each position has a total of six steps, Step 1 (entry level) through Step 6 (15 years of employment with the organization). Union staff are promoted from Step 1 to Step 2 upon their one-year anniversary. The current Step 1 rate for this position is $27.32/hr, and the current Step 6 rate for this position is $30.16/hr.

** In addition to our competitive salaries, we pay a shift differential for certain shifts in our 24-hour programs as follows: (Only 1 differential -whichever is highest will apply at a time).

• 6.25% additional pay for overnight (NOC) shift from 11 pm to 7 am
  • 4.75% additional pay for evening shift from 5:30 pm to 10:59 pm
  • 4.75% additional pay for weekend shifts from 12:01 am on Saturday thru 11:59pm on Sunday

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Coordinate and/or participate in the implementation and delivery of any or all appropriate food systems to meet licensing, payor and other regulatory health and safety standards.*
   1. Provide menu planning, preparation, set up, and service/delivery of meals and snacks.
   2. Coordinate and perform activities which maintain proper food supplies and storage.
      1. Monitor food supplies inventory on a regular basis;
      2. Order and/or shop for these items; verify incoming orders;
      3. Maximize bulk purchasing opportunities for food and other supplies at such stores as Costco and the local food banks;]
      4. Store inventory in an orderly manner that is easily retrievable and compactly stored, maximizing available storage space;
      5. Inspect, rotate, sort, and organize food and supplies inventory.
2. Coordinate and perform sanitation and housekeeping processes and activities that maintain facilities to meet licensing, payor and other regulatory health and safety standards.*
   1. Perform basic cleaning, such as washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, office, and the exterior area using a variety of manual and motorized equipment;
   2. Perform deep cleaning of kitchen facilities; scheduled weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cleanings.
   3. Dispose of garbage and containers.
3. Complete manual and/or computerized logs, records and other required documentation, in accordance with agency, payor and regulatory requirements. *
4. Provide transportation in personal or agency vehicle, including, but not limited to, the transport of clients and/or program supplies, for agency business.*

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Participate in community, agency and team meetings and training, as required.
2. Participate in safety drills and inspection and emergency preparedness activities, as assigned.*
3. Interface with residents as conditions require and in an unobtrusive manner.*
4. Provide First Aid and transport assistance in emergency situations, if needed.*
5. Participate in management of team/program discretionary resources available to meet client needs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:  (E = Essential; D = Desired)

1. High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education (D) and a minimum of one year of related, full time experience. (E) (Volunteer experience will be considered.)
2. Purchasing, kitchen, laundry, and housekeeping management experience, including basic nutrition; menu development, cooking techniques, safe food storage and kitchen sanitation practices, and kitchen supply management. (E) Prior lead experience in commercial or industrial cooking. (D)
3. Demonstrated safe and proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous materials and use of manual and motorized cleaning equipment. (E)
4. Demonstrated ability to:
   1. Plan efficient routing for driving assignments; (E)
   2. Interact with staff and residents with tact and diplomacy; (E)
   3. Exercise good judgment and stay calm and reassuring in stressful and emergency situations and with agitated individuals; (E)
   4. Engage and communicate effectively with others; (E) communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, in Spanish; (D)
   5. Work effectively with people, including persons of different value systems, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, language capabilities, and disabilities; (E)
   6. Exhibit exemplary customer service, compassion, and care in the execution of all duties and interactions. (E)
5. Proven typing speed of 30 net wpm (D); and computer literacy, including ability to use MS Office applications—Word; Excel; Outlook—and Windows- and UNIX-based at an intermediate level. (D)
6. First Aid Certification or successful completion of First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire. (E)
7. Special Requirement: Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations and Momentum practices.
8. A valid California Driver License, with access to a reliable vehicle or for driving a company vehicle, current proof of auto liability insurance, and a clean DMV record, with eligibility for a Class B license. (D)
9. Physical requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job, with or without accommodation: (E)
   1. Standing, walking, grasping, finger flexion, moving/lifting/carrying objects up to 40 lbs., bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, withstanding repetitive motion and reaching repeatedly are required constantly (over 2/3 of the workday); (E)
   2. Hearing and talking on telephone/in person is required occasionally (under 1/3 of the workday); (E)
   3. Balancing, climbing and crawling may be required occasionally. (E)
   4. Being physically able to assist clients and/or staff in the evacuation of program facilities in emergency situations. (E)
