RoleOverview: Senior Revenue Accountant
Arlington, VA | In office, Monday - Friday
As a Senior Accountant, you will be primarily responsible forassistingin the global monthly revenue close process, including the analysisonaccounts receivable and preparation of the allowance for credit losses. Revenue close responsibilities include preparation of (i) monthly journal entries, (ii) account reconciliations, and (iii) variance analyses related to the monthly results. This position will also collaborate with the Financial Planning and Analysis, Billings, Cashcollectionsand Revenue Service teams toassistin the monthly close process and to understand fluctuations from budget and forecast.
The Senior Accountant should have a general knowledge Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP") and experience (i) working within a monthly close process, (ii) preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, (iii)identifyingand improving monthly processes. The Senior Accountant should be eager to learn anddemonstratestrong communication, timemanagementand organizational skills. This person should be highly adaptable to change due to Costar's rapid growth via organic growth and acquisitions. The Senior Accountant will have a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This position willreportto theSenior Manager of Revenue.
This position may get exposure to technical accounting issues and interactions with external auditors related to the close process, accountreconciliationsand variance analyses.
- Preparation of monthly journal entries and supporting schedules and review of monthly financial results.
- Accounts receivable analysis and preparation of the allowance for credit losses.
- Assistancein a variety of aspects of the Enterprise Resource Planning system implementation.
- Assistancewith special projects withindepartmentor as part of cross-functional teams.
- Research technical accounting issues.
- Work with external auditors andfacilitatereview of the close process, accountreconciliationsand variance analyses.
- Ensuretimelymonthly close andaccuratemonthly results.
- Bachelor'sdegreein Accounting or Financefroman accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university.
- A track recordof commitment to prior employers.
- Experience preparing or reviewing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Process implementation experience.
- Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
- General knowledge of GAAP guidelines and ability to enhance knowledge and apply to a variety of situations.
- Familiarity with systems andoptimizinguse of systems to generate data for analyses.
- Strong Excel skillsrequired.
- Experience with OracleERPa plus.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of ASC 606a plus.

The final salary or hourly rate offered for this role will fall within the range set forth below based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
Base Compensation: $77,000.00 - $129,000.00 Annually
