A Cost Segregation Manager works closely with both engineering and tax professionals to ensure accurate identification and classification of building components for tax purposes. The manager coordinates site visits with engineers to analyze construction details and gather the necessary data. Familiarity with cost segregation analysis software, tax depreciation schedules, and IRS guidelines is essential, and certifications like CPA or PE can enhance credibility. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you interpret data and present findings to clients and stakeholders. These skills are crucial for maximizing clients' tax benefits, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate and defensible cost segregation studies.
