Role Overview

MOBIS North America electrified Powertrain LLC (MNAe) is a Tier 1 supplier of Battery System Assembly (BSA) and Power Electric (PE) Systems, which are vital parts to produce Hyundai/Kia electric vehicles, based on state-of-art manufacturing technology related to battery system assembly.

Our Cost Planning Department at Hyundai Mobis North America is seeking a Cost Planning Specialist to join our team in Richmond Hill, Georgia. The Cost Planning Specialist supports cost modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. This role works closely with accounting, engineering, purchasing, operations, and manufacturing teams to analyze cost drivers, support new product launches, and ensure alignment with corporate financial objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Maintain and update cost planning models, cost structures, and financial projections
  • Analyze material, labor, and overhead cost components to support pricing and program profitability
  • Assist with evaluating cost impacts of engineering changes, supplier updates, and new product introductions
  • Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and longterm financial planning
  • Prepare cost variance analyses and management reports with clear explanations
  • Monitor key costrelated KPIs and identify opportunities for cost optimization
  • Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to understand cost drivers and operational impacts
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and audit requirements
  • Support cost reviews, new model launch activities, and crossfunctional financial planning meetings
  • A companypaid business trip to another plant may be required
  • Training will be required to become familiar with company ERP systems, cost planning tools, and financial processes

AUTHORITY & SCOPE

This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required

Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

Required Education & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of cost planning, cost modeling, and financial analysis
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, or cost structure development
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and communicate findings clearly
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with engineering, purchasing, production, and finance teams

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Experience in cost planning or cost analysis within a manufacturing or automotive environment
  • SAP or other ERP system experience
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and internal control requirements
  • CPA, CMA, or similar certification preferred but not mandatory
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
