Job Description
Cost Accounting Supervisor

Looking for a seasoned accountant to lead a team for one of the largest manufacturing facilities in Houston. You will actively work with various operations personnel and financial management and become an intricate component of our progressive team environment. The applicant must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to critically analyze large data sets. The cost accounting supervisor should also provide guidance and mentorship to direct reports.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Manage staff daily needs and ensure all tasks and responsibilities are covered.
  • Comfort in communicating and presenting results to senior management across different departments and geographical locations.
  • Posses strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Respond to internal and external auditor requests.
  • Reviewing and approving of monthly account reconciliations.
  • Reviewing of monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analysis and summarizing/communicating to upper management.
  • Partner with operations and accounting personnel to provide advice and technical assistance with operational transactions or processes and correlate the correct financial accounting.
  • Providing guidance on root cause analysis and implementation of corrections where needed.
  • Driving the review of system annual standard costs and executing in the system.
  • Assisting with the monthly review of project budgets.
  • Developing automated streamline processes for reporting or data analysis.
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets for review by upper management.
  • Complete ad-hoc financial analysis and cost accounting projects as required.

Qualifications
Desired Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3 years of accounting, auditing, or other relevant experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge.
  • Oracle, Hyperion, Smart View, Snowflake, Power BI, and Alteryx experience a plus.
  • Experience with manufacturing standard cost environment.
  • High level of dedication to meeting customer requests and required time commitments.
  • Aptitude for relating manufacturing activities, system transactions, and processes to financial outcomes.
