Experienced Automotive Detailer

Position Overview

Department: Detail Department

Employment Type: Full-Time

Base Location: Beresford, SD

Position Summary

Jerry's Chevrolet & Corvette Center is seeking an experienced Automotive Detailer to join our team in Beresford, South Dakota. We are looking for an individual who takes pride in their work, pays close attention to detail, and is committed to delivering vehicles that exceed customer expectations.

The ideal candidate will have previous automotive detailing experience and understand the importance of creating a clean, polished, and professional presentation for every vehicle. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our customers receive their vehicles in showroom condition while maintaining the appearance of our inventory.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Detailing

• Perform complete interior and exterior detailing on new, used, and certified vehicles

• Wash, wax, buff, polish, and protect vehicle finishes

• Vacuum, shampoo, and clean vehicle interiors including carpets, seats, headliners, and cargo areas

• Clean windows, mirrors, wheels, tires, and trim components

• Remove stains, odors, and minor cosmetic imperfections when possible

• Prepare sold vehicles for customer delivery

Inventory Preparation

• Ensure all inventory vehicles meet Jerry's appearance standards

• Assist with maintaining lot appearance and vehicle presentation

• Coordinate with sales and service departments to prioritize vehicle readiness

• Inspect completed vehicles to ensure quality standards have been met

Shop & Equipment Maintenance

• Maintain detailing equipment and supplies

• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe

• Report equipment concerns and supply needs to management

• Follow all company safety procedures and environmental regulations

Customer Service

• Take pride in delivering an exceptional final product

• Support dealership goals by ensuring vehicles are presented at the highest level

• Assist with special detailing requests and customer satisfaction initiatives

Qualifications

Required

• Previous automotive detailing experience

• Strong attention to detail and quality standards

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent work ethic and reliability

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• Ability to safely operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day

Preferred

• Experience with paint correction, buffing, and polishing

• Experience with ceramic coatings and paint protection products

• Previous dealership detailing experience

• Knowledge of detailing chemicals, products, and equipment

Work Environment & Schedule

This position is based at Jerry's Chevrolet & Corvette Center in Beresford, South Dakota. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions. The ideal candidate must be dependable, self-motivated, and committed to producing high-quality work every day.
