Join our Cortex Installation team as a Field Installation Technician and play a critical role in deploying innovative Cintas apparel dispensing systems across the United States.
In this role, you’ll combine mechanical expertise, technical troubleshooting, customer interaction, and teamwork to deliver exceptional installation experiences for some of the nation’s leading healthcare and higher education organizations. What You’ll Do
As a Field Installation Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and customer support of advanced garment handling systems in the field.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute installations of Cintas garment handling machines nationwide, including:
  • Equipment unloading and placement
  • Mechanical assembly and setup
  • Network connectivity and communication verification
  • PLC programming and final system commissioning
  • Coordinate installation schedules and activities with Program Managers, customers, and internal Cintas teams
  • Deliver on-site demonstrations and user training for: Machine operators, Cintas MAMs and SSRs, customer maintenance personnel
  • Mentor and assist in training new installation team members in both field and manufacturing environments
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and basic controls-related issues
  • Perform program updates and basic controls troubleshooting
  • Conduct detailed post-installation inspections and complete formal engineering signoff documentation
  • Accurately complete work orders, service documentation, database updates, and service reports
  • Submit weekly expense reports in a timely manner
  • Represent Engineering professionally at customer sites through exceptional communication and customer service
Required Skills amp; Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Basic understanding of computer operating systems, networking and connectivity, and technical troubleshooting
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems in the field
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Field service or installation experience preferred
Education amp; Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical degree, certification, or vocational training preferred
Additional Requirements
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license
  • Ability to travel extensively: Monday–Friday travel schedule, up to four weeks per month on the road
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on role requiring the ability to:
  • Stand for extended periods on concrete flooring
  • Kneel, squat, stoop, climb, crawl, recline, and bend as needed
  • Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Lift heavier equipment with approved lifting assistance devices
  • Adjust visual focus and work in dynamic installation environments
Work Environment
Most work is performed in hospital facilities and higher education laboratory environments where professionalism, safety, and attention to detail are essential.
