Job description

Hood Container Corporation (HCC) is seeking a dynamic leader to join our team as a Production Supervisor in our 3520 Dillon Rd, Jamestown, NC 27282 facility

The Production Supervisor is responsible for coaching, training, and developing direct reports in safety, quality, production, problem solving, and technical skills involved in the operation of the production floor. The Production Supervisor is responsible for communicating and working with other department managers, the Production team, and Customer Service to ensure quality and on-time production goals are met.

MUST HAVE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Five or more years in a leadership experience
  • Previous supervisor in a manufacturing
  • Ability to work 2nd shift when needed up to a week at a time
  • Customer service-related experience; or equivalent training and experience in other plant operations
  • Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and work in a team environment essential
  • Basic computer experience (word processing, Excel and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead safety, quality, productivity, and improvement initiatives on the designated shift
  • Plan, assign and direct work for all hourly production employees; appraise performance and provide feedback as needed; assist in resolving complaints; hold employees accountable as needed; communicate issues and results daily.
  • Ensure adherence of employees to plant safety rules and that health and safety regulations are obeyed on shift
  • Capable of making changes to line setup to increase efficiencies
  • Management of Line Coordinators and Leads regarding safety, quality findings, and daily production needs.
  • Managing and entry of daily labor and production results.
  • Resolve problems that would adversely affect the performance of the Line Coordinators/Leads and the continuity of the team concept.
  • Ensure the safe use and operation of equipment and the training/documentation of qualified employees
  • Review production and quality paperwork for accuracy and compliance as well as inventory and quality processes and checks.
  • Understand and coach on build/assembly specs.
  • Root cause analysis for quality, safety, or productivity failures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager, including performing the functions and tasks of a line lead/line coordinator when necessary.
