Job description

We are seeking a project-oriented, driven and organized Corporate Events Director to join our team at an established, nationwide business. Expected to direct, lead and execute regional and Nationwide events from pre-planning to post-event. In this role, you will own project timelines, coordinate event logistics, and lead cross-functional execution to manage all aspects of event execution, ensuring smooth operations and delivering high quality experiences for 10+ events per year.  This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys seeing ideas come to life and can effectively plan,  communicate and organize, managing multiple complex projects simultaneously. Responsible for cross-functional collaboration and should be comfortable, experienced and confident with prioritizing, multi-tasking and problem solving under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage detailed project timelines and critical milestones 
  • Own the end-to-end project management of corporate events from concept through post-event evaluation 
  • Lead, maintain and assist in negotiating contracts related to events including venue selection and all third party vendors
  • Seek, book and coordinate with event entertainment- pre, during and post event
  • Manage budget and coordinate execution of Audio Visual contracts for all events
  • Direct and organize materials with MC of large nationwide events
  • Develop and maintain event schedules and agendas including comprehensive event and project plans
  • Coordinate and manage speaker participation for events
  • Oversee all pre-planning and event preparation with the team including the managing and development, ordering and shipping of attendee and expo materials 
  • Lead cross-functional project meetings and teams including marketing, sales, creative, operations, and executive leadership 
  • Oversee event setup and lead onsite management of all events 
  • Manage staff, volunteers, and contractors during events
  • Identify project risks, develop contingency plans, and make real-time decisions to ensure successful event execution. 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience managing multiple concurrent projects, demonstrating proven project management and planning skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong detail oriented and organizational skills 
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams without direct authority 
  • Ability to multi-task, and independently manage competing priorities is critical
  • Familiarity with managing budgets, negotiation and general contract language is a plus 
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Previous experience in event planning is required 

This position requires ownership of the complete event project lifecycle. While hospitality or banquet experience is valuable, the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leading complex events involving project planning, budgeting, vendor management, and cross-functional coordination.
