Job description

Corporate Development Associate

Our client is seeking a Corporate Development Associate to support the execution of strategic initiatives and contribute to the continued growth of the business. This role offers direct exposure to executive leadership and investment decision-making while supporting transaction analysis, due diligence, underwriting, market research, and portfolio monitoring. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Evaluate transaction opportunities through due diligence, financial analysis, and credit risk assessments
  • Prepare investment committee memos, presentations, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
  • Assist with underwriting activities, transaction execution, and post-transaction integration
  • Conduct market and industry research to identify trends, growth opportunities, and potential investments
  • Review legal and commercial documentation, including term sheets, confidentiality agreements, and commercial contracts
  • Monitor portfolio performance, client compliance, and credit risk while identifying potential concerns
  • Summarize complex financial and industry information into clear reports, charts, and presentations
  • Maintain corporate development databases and support strategic initiatives across the business
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to support ongoing corporate growth and operational objectives
Your strengths include:
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate development, business development, finance, or investment analysis
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong financial analysis, underwriting, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience conducting market research and preparing investment recommendations
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of legal or commercial agreements and experience in the energy, industrial, or infrastructure sectors is considered an asset
