Corporate Development Advisor  


WHO WE ARE


Northern Hawk Energy Ltd. (“Northern Hawk”) is a growing junior energy company based in Calgary. Northern Hawk’s experienced management team has a track record of success and significant depth of experience in the Canadian Oil and Gas sector. The company currently owns and operates a thermal heavy oil project near Kerrobert, SK, where the company is in the process of expanding productive capacity. Northern Hawk also holds a number of other thermal prospects in Saskatchewan. Northern Hawk has a solid base of production and cashflow and plans to continue to grow both our production and our team over the next few years. 


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 


Northern Hawk has an opportunity for a full-time Corporate Development Advisor based in its Calgary, AB office. Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will have exposure to a broad variety of responsibilities, typical of a smaller growing organization, and have the opportunity to significantly impact the future of the company. 


We are looking for a candidate to co-ordinate the corporate planning process and conduct financial modelling of the existing business and strategic opportunities. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating corporate emissions reporting and may support other areas of the business, including regulatory and marketing functions, depending on experience.


The successful candidate will also support business development activities from opportunity identification and screening to evaluation and transaction execution.  


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Maintaining the corporate financial model

• Coordinating the annual and 5-year corporate business plans

• Co-ordinating emissions reporting for the company

• Evaluating commercial opportunities and supporting broader initiatives as required

• Identifying and efficiently screening business development opportunities, and coordinating active projects

• Support of business functions, including regulatory and marketing as needed

• Modelling asset and corporate acquisition scenarios and their impact on Northern Hawk 

• Support capital structure work: debt and equity considerations

• Preparation of materials for the Board of Directors and investors 

• Interfacing with investors


 Who We Are Looking For 


This individual will be expected to play a key role in the successful, ongoing operations of the Company, they should possess the education, experience and expertise to be successful in the role:


• 5+ years of demonstrated relevant experience

• Ability to effectively interact across multidisciplinary teams and build effective working relationships

• Experience in financial modelling, including tax components

• Solid understanding of oil and gas economic evaluations and key parameters

• Experience in software tools to support corporate development e.g. ValNav, Excel, Geoscout, XI 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines and an occasional commitment beyond normal working hours

• Attention to detail, strong time management and project management skills 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Background in finance, investment banking, transactions or another related area 

• A technical background and direct exposure to oil and gas operations and development would be considered an asset

• Exposure to commodity marketing would be considered an asset

• Exposure to regulatory reporting and processes would be considered an asset

• Resourcefulness and problem-solving skills
