Job SummaryThe Director of Business Development is responsible for driving the growth of the firm by identifying, attracting, and recruiting high-quality financial advisors and advisory teams to join our independent broker-dealer platform. This individual serves as a strategic business partner and brand ambassador, building relationships with prospective advisors, understanding their business needs, and demonstrating the value of the firm's technology, service, investment solutions, and culture. Working closely with executive leadership, transition teams, and key stakeholders, the Director of Business Development manages the full recruiting lifecycle-from prospecting and relationship development through due diligence, offer negotiation, and successful onboarding. The ideal candidate is a consultative sales professional with deep knowledge of the independent wealth management industry, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a proven track record of influencing financial professionals through complex business decisions. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, persistence, strategic thinking, and the ability to articulate a compelling vision that helps advisors grow and better serve their clients.Key Deliverables and Responsibilities
  • Intermediate knowledge of developing recruiting leads through proactive outgoing solicitations, and review potential match with the firm through professional screening of recruiting opportunities

  • Manage the transition of new recruits by supporting the transition coordinator, communicating with other teams to support the recruit's business model

  • Participate as needed in firm's conferences and effectively interface with financial professionals for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing relationships for future contacts

  • Host Home Office Visits with recruits to provide an exceptional experience to our prospective financial professionals

  • Developing rapport with key decision makers and ensuring excellent customer service through consistent and effective follow-up

  • Maintain recruits' activities in CRM including leads, notes, and documentation for all verbal and in-person meetings

  • Identify trendsetting ideas by researching industry and related events, publications and share competitive intel with team

  • Daily execution of the business development strategy, plan and process to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate would possess an intermediate level of experience, typically around 5 or more years, with corporate development, recruiting, and/or business strategy within the retail RIA or wealth management business channels.

Salary Range:$100,000 plus incentive compensation. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate based on the ideal candidate's qualifications, the company's operational needs, and other factors permitted by law. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, skills, education, performance, internal equity, and geographic location.
