Job description

A leading global alternative asset manager is seeking an AVP, Corporate Accounting to join its corporate accounting and financial reporting team in Los Angeles.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys technical accounting, SEC reporting, process improvement, and partnering with executive leadership. You'll play a key role in shaping corporate accounting and reporting for a sophisticated global organization while working alongside an exceptional finance leadership team.
What you'll be doing:
  • Lead corporate accounting, financial reporting, and global consolidation activities
  • Review SEC filings, quarterly and annual financial statements, and other external reporting deliverables
  • Lead technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards
  • Prepare technical accounting memoranda for complex transactions and accounting matters
  • Oversee global consolidations, intercompany accounting, and close activities
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic finance and accounting initiatives
  • Drive ERP and reporting process improvements to improve efficiency and transparency
  • Support SOX compliance, external audits, and internal control initiatives
  • Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, Corporate Finance, Legal, and international accounting teams on cross-functional projects

We're looking for professionals with:
  • 9+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • CPA required
  • Combination of Big Four public accounting and corporate accounting experience preferred (exceptional candidates coming directly from public accounting will also be considered)
  • Public company experience with exposure to SEC reporting and technical accounting
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience researching and resolving complex accounting matters
  • Proven ability to lead projects, improve processes, and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience with Workday, Workiva, or Power BI is a plus
  • Asset management or financial services experience is beneficial but not required
