What is a corp trainer?

Corporate Trainers are professionals who design, develop, and deliver training programs to employees within an organization. Their goal is to improve employee skills, productivity, and knowledge in areas such as leadership, communication, compliance, and technical expertise. Corporate Trainers may conduct workshops, seminars, and hands-on training sessions, tailoring content to suit the organization's needs. They often assess training effectiveness and make adjustments to ensure that learning objectives are met.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a corp trainer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Corporate Trainer, you need expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and subject-matter knowledge, typically supported by a bachelor's degree in education, HR, or a related field. Familiarity with e-learning platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and certifications like CPLP or ATD are often required. Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills help trainers engage diverse audiences and adapt to different learning styles. These skills ensure that training programs are effective, relevant, and drive organizational growth.

How does a corp trainer typically measure the effectiveness of their training programs?

Corporate Trainer

Full Time Office 1201 Chase Road, Mesquite, TX, US

3 days ago Requisition ID: 1612

Salary Range: $56,525.00 To $66,500.00 Annually

Position Summary:

The Corporate Trainer is a facilitation-first role responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging learning across in-person (ILT), virtual (vILT), and hybrid modalities. As lead facilitator for KSSCโ€™s signature experiences within the REACH Talent Portfolio - our culture program, the WE ROQ Accountability Model program, and other experiences still in development - the Trainer brings the talent ecosystem to life, directly advancing culture adoption and sustainment, leadership effectiveness, and workforce capability growth. The Trainer also serves as on-camera talent and voiceover artist for multimedia learning assets that scale these experiences enterprise-wide.

Working with a product mindset, the Trainer measures success not by sessions delivered but by adoption, behavior change, and capability growth - the outcomes that drive workforce readiness. The role requires comfort with regular travel across our South, East, and West regions and the adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. The Trainer partners closely with People Leaders, HR Business Partners, Site and Department Leaders, and the broader Talent Management team to align delivery with KSSCโ€™s values, business priorities, and workforce needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a lead facilitator for signature experiences across the REACH Talent Portfolio - including our culture program, the WE ROQ Accountability Model, and a growing portfolio of enterprise experiences still in development - delivering consistent, high-energy sessions that bring our values and talent ecosystem to life.
  • Facilitates ILT, vILT, and hybrid courses on culture, accountability, leadership, communication, conflict resolution, coaching, and other professional development topics for Team Members, People Leaders, and Department Leaders.
  • Equips People Leaders to sustain accountability, coaching, and culture within their teams, reinforcing that Talent Management enables the system and leaders bring it to life.
  • Adapts facilitation style in real time to meet diverse audience needs and learning preferences across in-person, virtual, and blended environments.
  • Executes consistent, high-quality facilitation per the organizationโ€™s standards, ensuring every session is engaging, interactive, inclusive, and drives measurable adoption, behavior change, and culture sustainment - not simply attendance.
  • Approaches facilitation with a product mindset, treating learners as the customers of our talent experiences and prioritizing employee experience, capability growth, and behavior change over activity or volume.
  • Partners with Site and Department Leaders to coordinate scheduling, logistics, and participation across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Serves as on-camera talent and voiceover artist for video-based learning, contributing to the creation of multimedia training and development assets that scale our experiences across the REACH ecosystem.
  • Collaborates with the Instructional Designer and/or Senior Instructional Designer and the Talent Management team to storyboard, script, record, and refine video and digital learning content.
  • Balances multiple concurrent programs and rollouts while keeping the learner experience front and center.
  • Contributes frontline insights from facilitation - participant feedback, points of friction, and employee experience observations - to inform product discovery and the continuous improvement of talent experiences.
  • Provides progress reports, participant feedback, and recommendations to Talent Management leadership to strengthen experience design and delivery effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Speech Communication, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
  • 2+ years of experience facilitating leadership or professional development training (ILT and vILT), preferably in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or similar operational environments.
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills with proven ability to engage learners in both in-person and virtual settings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory, leadership development, and career coaching practices.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a must.
  • Experience working with Talent Management Systems (e.g. Cornerstone), AI Tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot, etc.), and virtual training platforms (e.g., MS Teams).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect and sustain relationshipswith employees across multiple levels and locations.
  • Ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand and present during in-person training sessions.
  • Must be able to lift and transport training materials (up to 25 lbs).
  • Mix of classroom, warehouse floor (for context and leadership integration), and virtual training environments.
  • Frequent regional travel to warehouse sites and occasional office-based work for reporting and planning.

Travel Requirements:

  • Local and regional travel required 50-75% of the time.
  • May include overnight stays depending on training schedule and business needs.

Equipment Used:

  • Standard office and training equipment (computer, projector, phone, printer, smart TVs, etc.).
  • Virtual training platforms and Talent Management System (TMS).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None - this is an individual-contributor role.
