Job Summary

This Sr Network/Security datapath/infrastructure Software Engineer will be at the forefront of architecture, design and implementation of Versa's high-performance forwarding software. You will be part of an highly-experienced engineering team developing high-performance packet and security service processing capabilities on new compute platforms. You will be part of and work closely with a team of. The candidate must have experience with developing software for industry leading multi-core architecture systems, network and security interfaces, and be able to develop best practices and guidelines for such applications. The candidate must have a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field of study and have 5-10 years of hands-on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software for real-time network applications on a multi-core architecture.
  • Design, Develop and maintain the NextGen Packet Forwarding and security features for SDWAN/SASE/SSE platforms.
  • Work across Development, System Test, PLM and TAC teams
  • Work on challenging problems and bring in new ideas for platform optimization.
Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP and advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies.
  • Expertise with general routing/switching, routing protocols (e.g BGP, OSPF), branch and DataCenter Architectures
  • Hands-on experience with packet processing pipelines.
  • Expertise with Remote Access VPN solutions, IPSEC, PKI & SSL is a plus.
  • Experience of working with Ethernet/QAT/LTE/Wifi/SRIOV/virtio/vmxnet3/OVS interfaces is a plus
  • Preferable to have prior experience working with DPDK and multicore systems.
  • Thorough understanding of performance benchmarks and ability to analyze the same.
  • Strong Linux Kernel development experience will be plus.
  • Prior experience having built a scalable and high-performance system is a plus.
  • Troubleshooting critical customer issues on a timely manner.
  • Exhibit strong skills in C/C++.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range of $200,000 to $310,000. A candidate's specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
