Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Bird Specialist to join our animal care team. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who is enthusiastic about avian care and eager to work directly with our bird collection on a daily basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform daily spot cleaning of bird enclosures and habitats
  • Conduct thorough weekly deep cleaning of all bird areas
  • Change cage papers and maintain clean surfaces
  • Clean and maintain floors in and around bird habitats
  • Pressure wash wooden perches, branches, and structures
  • Rotate toys during cleaning cycles to ensure environmental enrichment
  • Inspect and replace worn or damaged toys with fresh enrichment items
  • Monitor bird health and behavior during daily care routines


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comfortable handling and working directly with various bird species
  • Personable demeanor with birds and strong animal handling skills
  • Genuine enthusiasm for avian care and welfare
  • Strong attention to detail in cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Reliable transportation (must have own vehicle)
  • Ability to work on-site at our Temecula location
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning duties including pressure washing and lifting
