Job description

SUMMARY: Core Systems Technicians closelymonitor daily operations within core processing jobs via the Fiserv DNA Core platform. This is a hands-on position, responsible for ensuring that daily banking processes run smoothly, verifying data accuracy, and assisting with troubleshooting and system maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Confirm that daily processing tasks within the DNA Core Banking System are completed successfully via our automated job scheduler.
  • Provide support for end users experiencing issues with core banking and ancillary systems, escalating more complex issues as necessary.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving minor issues that arise during daily processing or system performance, working with peers and submitting tickets with vendors as necessary to achieve resolution.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklist items to ensure deliverable deadlines are met.
  • Automate file transfers, pipeline and DNA job runs on request from business partners and Core management.
  • Update Authorization Roles within the Core Banking system upon request from appropriate department leaders.
  • Maintain rate schedules, ensuring rate changes requested by Treasury are input accurately and linked to the corresponding deposit or loan products.
  • Support regular monthly patching activities.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support after-hours processing, issue triage, and incident response as needed.
  • Read, maintain, and contribute to operational and technical documentation to support knowledge sharing, standardization, and continuity of support.
  • Proactively take ownership of incoming work, issues, and requests, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution with minimal supervision.
  • Leverages AI tools to enhance problem analysis, documentation quality, and day-to-day operational effectiveness

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Ability):
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of and experience with transaction and database platforms, JCL, SQL, DB2, AIX, and Windows operating systems; operating, maintaining, and supporting applications in LAN/WAN or client/server environments.
  • Strong IT help desk and customer support skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical, multi-tasking, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple, concurrent, and competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and to make independent decisions when needed in accordance with acceptable best practices, including proactively identifying work that needs to be addressed.
  • Core Banking / Fiserv DNA system administration experience preferred.
  • Experience with OpCon or similar enterprise automation and scheduling tools is beneficial.

Must be available to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation to complete work assignments and support business needs.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision to identify colored labels, cables, and indicator lights.
Use of computer workstations at desk height and use of server consoles while standing. Installation, removal or termination of cabling, in communications closets and office settings. Occasional use of ladder to reach cables or hardware in ceilings or near top of computer hardware racks. Installation or removal of computer hardware into server racks.
