The Job
The Site Security Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day execution and technical support of physical security operations at a high-performance computing (HPC) data center campus. This role focuses on the functional implementation of security policies, the maintenance of security technologies, and providing direct support for incident response and compliance. The Specialist works closely with the site security manager to maintain a secure environment that meets both corporate and client-specific standards.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the daily coordination of campus security operations, including monitoring the performance of the contract security force.
  • Conduct daily system health checks for access control (Genetec/HID/Biometrics), Video surveillance (Axis), and intrusion detection systems such as LiDAR to ensure 100% uptime.
  • Process badge and access requests, ensuring strict adherence to provisioning and deprovisioning protocols for employees and vendors.
  • Serve as a first responder to security alarms and incidents, providing detailed documentation and initial investigation reports.
  • Assist the site facility/operations manager in facilitating security drills and tabletop exercises for the site team.
  • Identify and report operational gaps or training needs within the guard force to leadership.
  • Perform regular physical security tours and inspections to identify vulnerabilities or maintenance needs.
  • Gather data and documentation required for ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST audits.
  • Monitor visitor management logs and shipping/receiving security protocols to ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for security equipment repairs and vendor maintenance visits.
  • Utilize video surveillance analytics and integrated technologies to support investigations and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in the testing and commissioning of new security hardware during site expansions or upgrades.
  • Support the Site Security Manager during crisis events, acting as a liaison between the site leadership team, security operations center and field personnel.
  • Ensure all emergency equipment (radios, first aid kits, trauma bags) is maintained and ready for use.
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication within the immediate team, with cross-functional colleagues, and with leadership across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or 4+ years of relevant experience in physical security operations.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a high-security environment (e.g., Data Center, or Critical Infrastructure).
  • Strong technical proficiency with Genetec, Axis, and HID platforms is highly preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite, JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Smartsheet and other organizational apps.
  • Working knowledge of industry compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001) is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for incident reporting and stakeholder interaction are a must.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and physical tasks (lifting, climbing ladders, walking, or standing for multiple hours in/outside) in a mission-critical environment.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ASIS CPP or PSP) is an advantage.
  • Military or law enforcement background preferred.

Location
On-site. This role is available in Muskogee, OK. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the selected location.
Travel
Frequent travel may be required as needed.
Work Environment
This job is operated in a professional office, warehouse, and data center environment. It routinely uses standard office equipment, including laptop computers, photocopiers, smartphones, ladders, forklifts, and scissor lifts. Personal protective equipment is required at industrial and construction sites.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, position. General hours and days of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some nights and weekends may be required.
