Job description


Responsible for monitoring the AHS's compliance in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and local dietary standards, guidelines, and regulations. Ensures that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Provides clinical nutrition assessment and documentation for general medical and surgical oncology, bariatric/weight management and critical care.
2. Maintains quality assurance and evaluates compliance with corporate policies and procedures and State and Federal guidelines.
3. Assists in planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating the Dietary Department, its programs and activities.
4. Assists dietary staff in use of departmental policies and procedures.
5. Provides written/oral reports to the Administrator or required concerning the operations of the Dietary Department.
6. Manages and improves policies, procedures, and programs to assure compliance with regulatory requirements by making oral/written recommendations to the Corporate Dietitian.
7. Develops and participates in educational sessions for staff to increase knowledge of staff and improve resident care for the Dietary Department.
8. Reviews appropriate web sites, publications and other educational materials to ensure that the standards of practice are being achieved.
9. Monitors food temperature and taste through the use of Test Trays, Meal Evaluations and review of Food Temperature Logs.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
1. Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science or related field.
2. Licensed with the State of New Jersey as a Registered Dietetic Technician or Registered Dietician or Dietary Manager Association or as applicable.
Preferred:
1. Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science or related field.
2. 2-3 year's experience in acute care clinical nutrition or relevant area.
