Job description

JOB SUMMARY: Provide regional leadership, technical assistance, staff development, and instructional coaching to build client capacity to support districts in the selection and implementation of high-quality instructional materials to ensure equity for all students through access to grade-level, rigorous content. Provide leadership to clients in making connections between programs, including but not limited to Texas Curriculum Management Program Cooperative (TCMPC), Learning Alive, and core content areas.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES

Knowledge
Master's degree required from an accredited university.
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements.
Three years of relevant teaching experience.
Certified Research-Based Instructional Strategies and Product Advisor preferred upon hire.
Experience in facilitating professional development, instructional coaching, mentoring, and professional learning communities that promote change.
Experience in curriculum development and implementation.

Skills/Abilities
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate ability to implement instructional practices that increase student achievement.
Demonstrate effective job-related skills that model effective integration of technology.
Experience with Blended Learning preferred.
Demonstrate competence with assisting others to integrate technology into the curriculum appropriately.
Proficiency with standard functions within applications such as Microsoft 365/Google, (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software), e-mail, web browsers, and databases.
Proficiency with computers (PCs and/or MACs) to include file and desktop management and operations and working in a cloud-based and/or networked environment.

Exceptions to these requirements will be considered based on exemplary skills, training, and record of success.

PRODUCTS/OUTCOMES
Oversee Local Education Agency (LEAs) with piloting and adopting instructional materials.
Oversee and execute content-specific research-based instructional strategies training educators and leaders.
Assist LEAs in making connections between programs such as TCMPC, Core, Learning Alive and personalized learning.
Manage the collection and analyzation of district feedback and summarize recommendations for instructional materials and continuous improvement training.
Identify and provide districts with appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and performance measures for improved student performance for all students.
Provide instructional coaching to LEAs around the integration of TCMPC and aspects of personalized learning, such as Learning Alive.
Promote the delivery of instructional programs in inclusive learning environments.
Work with district/campus personnel to develop long-term systematic instructional coaching and staff development plans for teachers based on district/campus goals and student achievement data.
Assist districts in establishing quality instructional programs that meet and exceed TEA accountability standards.
Plan, organize, and conduct instructional coaching activities related to the state adopted instructional materials.
Utilize appropriate educational technology in the delivery of programs and services.
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness.
Report progress of improvement efforts to Center personnel and Local Education Agencies.

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY
Be aware of and follow Center guidelines of allowable costs when recommending use of public funds for expenditures for supplies, equipment, and facilities in area of assignment.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer, peripherals, copy machine, phone, etc.
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional standing, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
Lifting: Light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); occasional heavy lifting/carrying (15-50 pounds).
Environment: This role primarily operates in an in-person, dynamic office setting, characterized by frequent verbal communication, movement, and collaboration among team members (small to large in-person gatherings/meetings); exposure to low or intense illumination; exposure to office equipment noise; may work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent travel; and, occasional remote work (after pre-determined length of employment).
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Function within the policies and procedures of ESC-20.
Accept other responsibilities as assigned.
Dress and groom appropriately for the ESC-20 work setting.
Travel independently to fulfill responsibilities of the position.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance, majority in-person/onsite.
