The Life Science and Healthcare Relationship Management role is responsible for acquiring, orchestrating, and growing entire client and ecosystem relationships; deepening relationships within the C-Suite; consulting on, and cross-selling, the entire FCB platform to address client business and personal needs; orchestrating cross-functional SVB teams to optimize the client experience; and building real relationships to differentiate SVB with all key influencers in the market. Core responsibilities include new business development and expansion of existing relationships, as well as, originating, advising on, and negotiating financing solutions for SVB Commercial Bank clients. This position will build relationships with C-Suite executives, expand existing client relationships, and build strong connections with key market influencers.


Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management - Serve as primary relationship management contact for large portfolio of clients, identifying needs, working with internal partners to structure customized solutions to solve complex client issues. Ensure high quality products, service and platforms are available to clients. Leverage knowledge about core banking products, platforms and services, to recommend appropriate solutions to meet client needs (SVB Go, financing solutions, private banking, wealth advisory, analytics, payments, cards, cash management)
  • Business Development and Growth - Leverage industry sector expertise and thought leadership, drive and lead industry events to cultivate external network. Generate and foster strong network of referral partners/external sources, generating qualified prospects. Leveraging deep expertise in their sector and industry, position recommend, advise, originate, and negotiate credit and financing solutions and structure for client needs. Provide strategic insights aligned with client needs and market trends.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration and Leadership - Lead team interactions with key cross functional partners. Collaborate with appropriate business units to achieve success drivers and corporate goals. Mentor and guide team members to further develop their client relationship, business development and financial solutions skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of Relationship Management experience or High School or GED and 6 years of Relationship Management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in Commercial banking, venture capital or Relationship Management and/or industry-specific knowledge in life sciences/healthcare.
  • Strong relationship management, negotiation, and marketing skills. Good closing skills. Strong focus and ownership on the overall client experience.
  • Ability to build and maintain a network of business relationships, including the executive management of clients, prospects, and other referral sources.
  • Knowledge of bank operations and commercial banking products.

The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $130,000 - $173,000 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
