What does a copywriter do?

A copywriter is a professional who creates written content for advertising, marketing, and promotional materials. Their main goal is to craft persuasive and engaging copy that encourages people to take action, such as buying a product, subscribing to a service, or learning more about a brand. Copywriters work on a variety of materials, including advertisements, websites, emails, social media posts, and product descriptions. They often collaborate with designers, marketers, and clients to ensure the messaging aligns with brand objectives.

What are some common challenges copywriters face when collaborating with designers and marketing teams?

Copywriters often need to balance creativity with strategic messaging while working closely with designers and marketing teams. One common challenge is ensuring that the written content aligns seamlessly with the visual elements and overall brand voice. Effective communication and flexibility are crucial, as feedback from multiple stakeholders may require revisions to meet campaign goals. Building strong relationships and maintaining an open feedback loop can help copywriters overcome these challenges and produce cohesive, impactful content.

Can I be a copywriter with no experience?

Yes, entry-level copywriter positions often do not require prior experience and may focus on strong writing skills, creativity, and the ability to learn quickly. Building a portfolio, gaining familiarity with writing tools like Google Docs or Grammarly, and completing relevant courses can help you qualify for such roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a copywriter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Copywriter, you need excellent writing, grammar, and editing skills, often supported by a degree in communications, marketing, or English. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), SEO tools, and analytics platforms is typically required. Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines are standout soft skills in this role. These skills ensure that copywriters can produce compelling, targeted content that meets client objectives and drives engagement.

About Home Run Franchises

Home Run Franchises is one of the fastest-growing home service franchise organizations in the country, with brands including Up Closets, Dryer Vent Superheroes, and The Lighting Squad. Our mission is simple: help entrepreneurs build exceptional businesses through proven systems, innovative marketing, and world-class support.
As part of Home Run Franchises, Flickswitch Marketing serves as our affiliated marketing agency, specializing in Meta advertising for our franchise owners. We manage paid social campaigns across hundreds of local markets, continually testing new ideas, refining creative, and optimizing performance to generate measurable results.
Our team doesn't simply manage advertising—we build scalable marketing systems that help franchise owners grow their businesses.
We're looking for someone who is equal parts strategist, analyst, copywriter, designer, and creative problem solver. This isn't a campaign management role. You'll be responsible for continually improving performance, developing new ideas, and helping shape the future of paid social marketing across our franchise brands.
What Will You Do?

The Performance Marketing Strategist will work with Flickswitch Marketing, Home Run Franchises' affiliated marketing agency, where you'll help develop, launch, and optimize Meta advertising campaigns for franchise owners across multiple brands.
You'll analyze campaign performance, identify opportunities, develop new advertising concepts, create compelling creative, write persuasive ad copy, launch structured tests, and continually optimize campaigns to generate more qualified leads at lower acquisition costs.
You'll have the freedom to experiment with new strategies, leverage AI tools, and directly influence the success of hundreds of locally owned franchise businesses.
Responsibilities

  • Analyze Meta advertising performance across multiple brands and local markets
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
  • Develop strategies to improve lead quality, booked appointments, conversion rates, click-through rates, cost per lead, and return on ad spend
  • Create structured testing plans for audiences, creative, messaging, offers, placements, and landing page strategies
  • Write compelling, conversion-focused advertising copy
  • Develop new advertising concepts based on campaign performance and consumer behavior
  • Design high-converting creative using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Build, launch, and optimize Meta advertising campaigns
  • Continuously monitor performance and implement optimization strategies
  • Present campaign insights, testing results, and recommendations to leadership
  • Stay current on Meta platform updates, AI tools, industry trends, and best practices
  • Collaborate with business coaches, designers, franchise owners, marketing leadership, and outside vendors
  • Help establish best practices that can be scaled across hundreds of franchise territories
Qualifications

  • 2+ years managing Meta advertising campaigns
  • Strong understanding of Facebook and Instagram advertising platforms
  • Experience optimizing campaigns for lead generation
  • Ability to analyze campaign data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Experience developing high-converting advertising creative
  • Experience using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of audience targeting, lookalike audiences, retargeting, and conversion tracking
  • Comfortable managing multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with franchise systems or multi-location businesses
  • Experience in an agency or high-growth marketing environment
  • Familiarity with GA4, Google Tag Manager, CRM integrations, and reporting dashboards
  • Experience with structured A/B testing
  • Understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO)
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate creative development, copywriting, and campaign analysis
Success in This Role

Within your first 90 days, you'll be expected to:
  • Identify ongoing optimization opportunities across all Meta campaigns
  • Launch recurring creative testing initiatives
  • Develop fresh advertising concepts every month
  • Improve campaign performance through data-driven decision making
  • Become a trusted resource for Meta advertising strategy
  • Help franchise owners generate more qualified leads while improving marketing efficiency
What We're Looking For

We want someone who genuinely loves performance marketing.
You enjoy digging into campaign data to understand why something worked, why it didn't, and what to test next. You're constantly thinking about headlines, offers, creative angles, audience psychology, and conversion optimization.
You don't settle for "good enough." You're always looking for the next improvement that lowers acquisition costs, increases conversion rates, and helps our franchise owners grow.
If you thrive in a fast-moving environment where you'll have the freedom to experiment, innovate, and directly influence the growth of multiple national brands, we'd love to meet you.
Why Join Home Run Franchises?

  • Work with one of the fastest-growing franchise organizations in the country
  • Influence the marketing strategy of multiple national brands
  • Own campaigns with real business impact
  • Collaborate with an entrepreneurial, high-performing team
  • Freedom to test new ideas and implement innovative marketing strategies
  • Competitive compensation and opportunities for professional growth
