What does a copywriter do?

A copywriter is a professional who creates written content for advertising, marketing, and promotional materials. Their main goal is to craft persuasive and engaging copy that encourages people to take action, such as buying a product, subscribing to a service, or learning more about a brand. Copywriters work on a variety of materials, including advertisements, websites, emails, social media posts, and product descriptions. They often collaborate with designers, marketers, and clients to ensure the messaging aligns with brand objectives.

What are some common challenges copywriters face when collaborating with designers and marketing teams?

Copywriters often need to balance creativity with strategic messaging while working closely with designers and marketing teams. One common challenge is ensuring that the written content aligns seamlessly with the visual elements and overall brand voice. Effective communication and flexibility are crucial, as feedback from multiple stakeholders may require revisions to meet campaign goals. Building strong relationships and maintaining an open feedback loop can help copywriters overcome these challenges and produce cohesive, impactful content.

What Do Copywriters Do?

Copywriters are writing professionals who write text and content for advertising and marketing purposes. The primary responsibility of Copywriters is to create text that informs the targeted audience about a product, service, or another project the company offers. Copywriters may be on staff or work independently as a freelancer. In this role, you research your topic to collect data about your subject so that you can include relevant information in your text, then you develop short- or long-form content for your company, depending on the project. For example, some Copywriters may write for direct mail campaigns and have more space to explain the product or service you are marketing, while others focus primarily on digital forums such as social media.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Copywriter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Copywriter, you need excellent writing, grammar, and editing skills, often supported by a degree in communications, marketing, or English. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), SEO tools, and analytics platforms is typically required. Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines are standout soft skills in this role. These skills ensure that copywriters can produce compelling, targeted content that meets client objectives and drives engagement.

-------------------------------------------------

Retail is shifting. The retailers who win are those who turn every customer interaction into measurable revenue, and Booxi is the platform that makes it possible. Dior, Hermes, Sephora, L'Oreal, Lacoste and Printemps have already adopted it.

We operate in 103 countries from Montreal and Paris, and 2026 is our tipping point into the US market and across Europe.

To get there, we're looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to make our Product Marketing a real lever for acquisition, market education and conversion on our Enterprise target accounts.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND AT BOOXI

  • A full scope: from strategic positioning to sales material on a live deal
  • Real field grounding: you listen to customer calls, join pipeline reviews, and observe in store
  • Real autonomy, with a Marketing Director who challenges you on the structural calls
  • World-renowned retail brands as clients: Dior, Hermes, Sephora, L'Oreal

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS SENIOR PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER

  • You shape the Product Marketing function at Booxi: you set the standards, document the learnings, and build the foundation that lets the function scale with the company.
  • Sharpen our positioning and messaging by persona, by vertical (luxury, beauty, optics, department stores...) and by market (US, Canada, UK, France, Italy, Switzerland), synthesizing the Voice of Customer continuously from customer calls, in-store visits and conversations with retailers.
  • Drive GTM strategies and product launches: which release we prioritize, in which market, with which angle, toward which persona, in coordination with our Product Director
  • Produce product content that educates the market and builds Booxi's credibility with retail decision-makers: product blog, thought leadership, market reports
  • Equip our Sales team with material that converts: decks, battle cards, one-pagers, demos, playbooks, product training and pre-meeting briefings tailored to the deal and the persona across the table
  • Bridge marketing, product and sales: work closely with the Sales Director on new topics and enablement, arm Sales on active opportunities, feed product with what comes back from the field.
  • Iterate continuously: read the data, keep what works, rework what doesn't. Messaging evolves every month
  • Your impact: a product that sells more easily, Sales who close more deals, and a retail market that understands why Booxi is different.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • You genuinely care (Just Care): you treat Sales and clients as real partners and the quality of what you deliver is how you respect the people carrying it in the field
  • You take ownership (No Passengers): you carry your scope end to end without being chased, you find a path even when it isn't mapped, you flag blockers early and you stay the course when it gets hard
  • You're a team player (Succeed as One): you build alignment early with Product and Sales, you share information without being asked, you actively engage in cross-team problems, and you know the collective result is what counts
  • You're Curious to the Core : you question before you execute, you challenge the status quo when needed, and you stay curious about new tools including AI, other teams and our industry

YOUR PROFILE

  • 6+ years of combined experience in Product Marketing, Sales Enablement, GTM or Partner Marketing in a B2B SaaS context, including at least 3 years in a Product Marketing Manager role
  • Command of strategic PMM fundamentals, already shipped in production: positioning, segmentation, messaging by persona, customer research, GTM by release
  • Strong copywriting and content skills in French and English: the message that lands, the post that educates, the whitepaper that builds credibility
  • Demonstrated Sales partnership: pipeline reviews, deal support, product training with an Enterprise Sales team
  • Comfortable with modern tools: you use AI as a daily lever (research, messaging, content, enablement), and you know how to identify and implement the right tools when they're missing
  • (Asset)
Good knowledge of retail: you've worked at a retailer or sold to them for years. If not, genuine curiosity for the sector and the ability to ramp up fast

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Generous vacation policy
  • Full company closure from December 25 to January 1
  • 2 personal days + unlimited sick leave
  • Group insurance
  • $300 home-office allowance (Montreal) or equivalent in Paris
  • Flexible schedule
