Job description

CHIEF ENGINEER - Port Canaveral
Chief Engineer Unlimited Diesel. Flexible: Part or Full time .Shift pay 8-hour shift. Unlimited Chief Only.
Duties:
  • Responsible for all operations and maintenance of equipment throughout the entire ship.
  • Responsible for engine room and maintenance.
  • Determines fuel, lube oil, and other consumables required for a voyage.
  • Compiles an inventory for spare parts, oversees fuel, lube, and slop oil transfers, all major maintenance.
  • Prepares the engine room for inspection by local marine/safety authorities (e.g. U.S. Coast Guard).
  • In charge of the engine room during emergency situations.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • USCG License as a Chief Engineer of Motor Vessel of an unlimited HP
  • Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests including but not limited to pre-employment, random, and post-accident testing
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
  • Ability to maneuver areas within the vessel including engine room spaces and crew areas
  • Good verbal and written communication with others continuously
  • Process calculations continuously
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Successfully complete drug test.
