Role Summary

A large enterprise organization with a mature Workday environment is seeking a Workday Technology Manager to lead its HRIS technology team and oversee the strategy, delivery, and optimization of Workday Reporting, Integrations, Prism Analytics, and Extend solutions.

This role provides both strategic leadership and hands-on technical direction to ensure Workday capabilities are scalable, secure, and aligned with evolving business needs. The position partners closely with HR, IT, Payroll, Finance, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions while maintaining strong governance, data integrity, and system performance.

The ideal candidate brings deep Workday technical expertise combined with strong team leadership and stakeholder management experience in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.


Key Responsibilities

Workday Strategy, Delivery & Leadership

  • Lead the design, prioritization, and delivery of Workday technology initiatives across Reporting, Integrations, Prism Analytics, and Extend
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the HRIS technology team, ensuring high-quality and timely execution of deliverables
  • Manage intake, prioritization, and delivery timelines across multiple Workday workstreams and ServiceNow requests
  • Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for HR technology across the organization

Workday Configuration & Technical Ownership

  • Lead the development and support of Workday Extend solutions to address evolving business requirements
  • Design and maintain complex Workday configurations including calculated fields, reports, dashboards, and data structures
  • Oversee development and maintenance of Workday integrations, including orchestration-based solutions and data flows across systems
  • Support Workday Prism Analytics use cases, including data modeling, transformation, and reporting outputs
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of enterprise HR data across systems and reporting layers

Reporting, Analytics & Data Management

  • Develop and maintain advanced Workday reports, dashboards, scorecards, and composite/matrix reporting solutions
  • Support data analysis initiatives using Workday Report Writer, calculated fields, and advanced Excel techniques
  • Ensure consistency and governance of reporting standards across HR technology platforms
  • Provide insights and reporting support to senior leadership and business stakeholders

Security, Governance & Compliance

  • Partner with HR, IT, Payroll, and Finance to ensure alignment on security roles, integrations, and access governance
  • Establish and maintain governance standards for reporting, integrations, and Workday Extend development
  • Support system audits, data integrity initiatives, and compliance-related reporting requirements
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise security, data governance, and system control standards

Operations, Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Support Workday releases and upgrades, including impact analysis, testing coordination, and rollout planning
  • Provide operational support for HRIS platforms, including issue resolution and system enhancements
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement scalable technology solutions
  • Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement across HR technology systems and workflows

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Serve as liaison between HR, IT, Payroll/Finance, and other business partners
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented team culture

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of HR Technology or HRIS experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday HCM experience, including system design and configuration
  • 3+ years of experience in Workday integrations, reporting, and advanced configuration
  • Strong experience with calculated fields, complex reporting, and dashboard development
  • Experience designing and supporting end-to-end HR system data flows and enterprise HR architecture
  • Proven ability to build and support 75+ Workday integrations, including orchestration-based integrations
  • Experience supporting Workday Prism Analytics use cases and data modeling
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills using Workday Report Writer and advanced Excel
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and complex initiatives in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional enterprise teams
  • Experience working with sensitive and confidential data

Preferred Qualifications
  • Workday Integrations Certification strongly preferred
  • Workday Prism Analytics Certification strongly preferred
  • Workday Extend Certification strongly preferred
  • Workday Security Certification preferred
  • ERP implementation experience
  • Experience with financial systems or HR/Payroll system integrations
  • Intermediate understanding of database concepts and data structures
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Extend components and application development

Compensation & Work Model
  • Employment Type: Direct-hire, full-time
