Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The COLA Web Manager will oversee and maintain official web pages for the College of Liberal Arts (COLA),
its departments and programs. The position involves routine updates to content and format to maintain currency
and relevance of content on pages related to people and activities in the college.
MAJOR DUTIES
Performs Web branding compliance and implementation functions.
Ensures website is in compliance per WCAG (World Wide Web Consortium, section 508(federal laws)
and EITA (state law).
Meet regularly with department and program chairs in COLA to maintain up-to-date information.
Manage content of website, ensuring currency and functionality of all pages related to COLA.
Remain current in training with NSU's Communications & Marketing department.
Remain current in design, technology, tools, and trends to improve performance of COLA web pages.
Monitor, assess, and report on performance statistics related to COLA web pages.
Troubleshoots and solves problem issues.
Uses Web Analytical tools to assist in making data driven decisions to improve user satisfaction and
support recruitment and retention initiatives.
Ensures website is in compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
Coordinates and collaborates with ITS and other Web-related project managers to implement online
products and services.
Drafts and designs original content.
Works with stakeholders to coordinate efforts for new web launches.
Is familiar with and follows NSU Web policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
Knowledge of web design, web content management systems, maintenance and UX
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, WordPress, CMS, and web analytics
Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization
Knowledge of WCAG (World Wide Web Consortium, section 508 (federal laws) and EITA (state
laws)
Knowledge of graphic design principles and printing practices.
Knowledge of ADA Accessibility rules.
Skill in managing details, collaborating, and communicating.
Skill in organizing and balancing priorities.
Skill in interpersonal relations and dealing with the public.
Skill in oral and written communications.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Dean or Assistant Dean assigns work in terms of general instructions and spot checks work for
compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES
Individuals will follow college and university policies and procedures particularly those that involve
web design and IT protocols and guidelines. These guidelines are generally clear and specific, but may
require some interpretation in applications.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of communicating with individuals in departments of the college and maintaining
the web pages for programs in the college.
The purpose of this position is to keep the web pages related to the College of Liberal Arts and its
programs up to date, functional, and effective.
CONTACTS
Contacts are typically with co-workers, other college personnel, students, faculty, staff, other
communications professionals, and members of the general public.
Contacts are typically to provide services, to give or exchange information, or to resolve problems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or while intermittently sitting, standing,
reaching or stooping. The employee must be able to distinguish between shades of color and font
type and size. The employee occasionally lifts light objects.

SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no direct supervision over personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate
degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position,
usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar
position for one to three years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Oklahoma for
the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1-3 years of experience in managing web sites and applications.
