Altair is looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Line Cook to join our culinary team. This is a hands-on position for a strong, well-rounded cook who can confidently work all stations on the line and help keep the kitchen organized and coordinated throughout service.

The Lead Line Cook will take ownership of their assigned station while also helping the Chef and other line cooks manage ticket flow, timing, communication, and overall execution. The ideal candidate is someone who understands that a successful service depends on the entire line working together.

Responsibilities
  • Work confidently across all stations on the line, including meat, sauté, and pizza as needed.
  • Take primary responsibility for an assigned station during each service, mostly the meat station.
  • Help organize ticket fires and coordinate timing and pickups with the rest of the line.
  • Communicate clearly with the Chef and other cooks regarding ticket priorities, pacing, and special requests.
  • Ensure your station is fully prepped and organized before service.
  • Assist other stations when needed to maintain smooth service.
  • Maintain proper food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with daily prep, breakdown, and closing duties.
  • Help set a positive example for other line cooks through professionalism, reliability, and strong communication.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional kitchen experience.
  • Strong experience working multiple stations in a high-volume restaurant.
  • Excellent understanding of line organization, ticket timing, and service flow.
  • Ability to read and manage a busy ticket rail while maintaining communication with the entire line.
  • Strong cooking fundamentals and attention to detail.
