As a cook for a cruise line, you travel on a cruise ship and prepare food for the passengers. There are many cruise line cooking positions, including sushi chef, baker, pastry cook, butcher, pantry cook, sous chef, executive chef, and more. Depending on the position, you may work with different foods, but your duties in each of these positions are usually related. Your responsibilities may involve creating a menu, checking inventory, planning each meal, prepping ingredients, and ensuring food is hot and ready for passengers. A higher level chef also oversees kitchen staff and all galley activity.
