(FGC), a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization, treats and prevents substance use disorder, as well as an array of other related problems. Family Guidance Centers, Inc seeks to support the behavioral health of individuals, families, and communities through our commitment to innovation, accountability, and compassionate care to facilitate positive, lasting change. Essential Duties: Engage with and provide individualized coaching and peer support to newly admitted patients with behavioral health conditions or needs in the emergency department at Cook County Health Stroger Hospital and throughout the hospital. Provide peer recovery support services that are culturally responsive and strengths-based throughout all stages of treatment and recovery.

These services aim to empower individuals, connect them to community resources, and foster natural supports, including family members. Provide community resources and referrals to patients seeking aftercare from Cook County Health Stroger Hospital. Offer encouragement in times of crisis and stress to eliminate potential barriers to ongoing recovery while at the hospital.

Connect patients to treatment, case management, and community resources including housing, medical care, education, vocational training, and recovery resources as indicated in the patient's treatment plan to support recovery goals. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:00a - 3:30p) Pay Rate: $20.92 per hour Start Date: ASAP Family Guidance Centers, Inc. is a Drug Free Environment (including THC and/or CBD)

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified by the Illinois Certification Board (ICB, Inc.) as a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CRPS) or be certified within one year of employment date.
