Job Description:

Under minimal supervision, perform engineering duties in the design or alteration of machines, sections, systems, units, or parts with consideration of manufacturing feasibility, cost, and operation in support of the business segment. Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair, and test machines and other mechanically functioning equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Create concepts for new machine functions.
  • Create technical solutions and assembly drawings.
  • Contact suppliers to clarify the functions of their systems.
  • Support purchasing in evaluating offers and suppliers.
  • Create product concept catalogue and specification workbook.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to the maintenance crew.
  • Experience and Education: Performs work under minimal supervision.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 4-year Engineering degree
  • 5+ years' experience
  • Experience in OEM equipment design. Experience in the hygiene, personal care, or converting industries, knowledge a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Solid Works experience with high functionality
  • First-hand experience in leading project teams and in project management.
  • Handle complex issues and problems, and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
  • Able to travel 10%
