Conversion Rate Optimisation information

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in conversion rate optimisation roles?

One common challenge in Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) is balancing quick wins with long-term strategic improvements, as stakeholders often expect immediate results from experiments and A/B tests. Additionally, CRO specialists frequently need to navigate conflicting opinions between marketing, design, and development teams while ensuring that data-driven recommendations are implemented effectively. Another challenge is obtaining sufficient traffic and statistically significant results, which can limit the speed and confidence of decision-making. Successful CRO professionals thrive by communicating clearly, prioritizing impactful tests, and fostering a culture of experimentation within their organizations.

What is conversion rate optimisation?

Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) is the process of increasing the percentage of website visitors who take a desired action, such as making a purchase, signing up for a newsletter, or filling out a form. This is achieved by analyzing user behavior, testing different website elements, and implementing changes to improve user experience and encourage conversions. CRO involves strategies like A/B testing, improving website design, optimizing calls to action, and minimizing barriers to conversion. The ultimate goal is to maximize the effectiveness of a website and increase return on investment from existing traffic.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a conversion rate optimisation specialist?

To thrive as a Conversion Rate Optimisation Specialist, you need strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of digital marketing principles, and experience with A/B testing and data interpretation, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, Optimizely, Hotjar, and other CRO platforms is typically required. Excellent communication, creativity, and problem-solving abilities help you collaborate with teams and design effective experiments. These skills are vital for increasing website conversions, enhancing user experience, and driving business growth through data-driven decisions.

Job Summary

We are seeking a driven Growth Marketing Specialist to architect and scale our digital acquisition engine. In this role, you’ll own the full-funnel lifecycle, from capturing early-stage intent through AI-driven search (AIO/GEO) and high-intent paid media, to optimizing conversion performance across our web properties.

You’re a hands-on technical strategist who understands that real growth in 2026 goes far beyond generating traffic. It requires orchestrating multi-channel ad platforms (YouTube, Meta, LinkedIn), maintaining a fast and dependable web infrastructure, and leveraging an intelligent CRM that can qualify leads and seamlessly route them to Sales. You’re equally comfortable setting high-level strategy and jumping directly into the platforms to execute.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, you will be the primary liaison with our external web development agency, lead our technical SEO/AIO roadmap, and translate complex performance data into a scalable pipeline of qualified leads and clients.

Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

Website Strategy

  • Architectural & Semantic Strategy: Lead the strategic development of website architecture and site structure to ensure discovery and citation across both traditional search engines and generative AI platforms (AIO/GEO).
  • Conversion-Centric Alignment: Oversee the design and deployment of high-converting landing pages and resource hubs, ensuring a frictionless user journey.
  • Agency & Vendor Management: Serve as the primary point-of-contact for external web design and development agency.

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) & Site Integrity

  • Technical Performance: Collaborate with web development team to ensure site maintenance standards meet the highest benchmarks for speed, security, and user experience.
  • Data-Driven Testing: Lead rigorous A/B and multivariate testing for high-conversion landing pages.
  • Funnel Analytics: Map the user journey to identify and rectify friction points that impede the transition from prospect to lead.

Search & Generative Engine Strategy (SEO / AIO / GEO)

  • Holistic Search Visibility: Execute a search strategy that maintains traditional SERP rankings (SEO) while optimizing for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and AI-driven answer engines.
  • Content Authority: Partner with the Content Marketing Specialist to ensure all digital assets are structured to secure brand citations in generative AI summaries.
  • Technical SEM: Manage high-intent PPC campaigns, optimizing for qualified leads rather than simple click volume.

Paid Media Orchestration

  • Cross-Platform Execution: Design and manage performance-focused campaigns across Google Ads, YouTube, Meta, and LinkedIn, ensuring creative alignment and audience segmentation.

Revenue Operations & HubSpot Management

  • Intent-Based Marketing: Utilize HubSpot’s Buyer Intent and behavioral data to trigger automated, personalized outreach for high-value prospects.
  • Lead Intelligence: Develop and refine sophisticated Lead Scoring models to prioritize high-intent accounts for the sales team.
  • Attribution Modeling: Maintain a clear view of multi-touch attribution to accurately report on the ROI of diverse marketing spend.

Campaign Planning and Analytics

  • Campaign Strategy: Partner with the marketing team to design and execute integrated, multi-channel growth programs.
  • Performance Reporting: Distill SEO, AIO, and site metrics into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Tactical Synchronization: Lead the technical rollout of campaigns to ensure tracking accuracy and cross-channel consistency.
  • Industry Leadership: Monitor and implement emerging trends in AI search and privacy-first data tracking.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or a related field preferred
  • 3–5+ years of experience in growth marketing, performance marketing, or technical marketing roles, ideally in financial services, fintech, or a regulated industry
  • Proven experience managing full-funnel digital acquisition, including SEO, paid media, and conversion rate optimization
  • Strong hands-on experience with HubSpot (or similar CRM), including lead scoring, lifecycle management, workflows, and attribution tracking
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize paid media campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, YouTube, Meta, and LinkedIn
  • Deep understanding of SEO, SEM, and emerging AI-driven search (AIO/GEO), including how content is structured for discoverability and citation
  • Experience leading website strategy and CRO initiatives, including A/B testing, landing page optimization, and user journey mapping
  • Familiarity with web technologies and infrastructure, including CMS platforms (HubSpot preferred) and collaboration with development teams
  • Strong proficiency in analytics and tracking tools, including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console
  • Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights that drive pipeline and revenue growth
  • Experience managing external agencies and vendors, with the ability to hold partners accountable to performance goals
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize across multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and external partners
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and highly accountable, with a bias toward execution and continuous improvement
