Contract (W2) up to 60/hr | Potential extension and/or conversion

Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Payroll professional to oversee the accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of U.S. payroll and international payroll support (as needed). This role owns end-to-end payroll operations—including on-cycle/off-cycle processing, funding, reporting, vendor oversight, and controls—with a strong emphasis on risk, compliance, and executive compensation (including RSUs/PSUs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support payroll system integrity by monitoring configurations, testing functionality, and validating outcomes following system updates/releases.

  • Maintain required documentation and record retention in accordance with policy and statutory guidelines.

  • Serve as a payroll SME, supporting stakeholders and driving process improvements and control enhancements.

  • Manage third-party vendor relationships, including SLAs, performance monitoring, and ensuring vendor compliance with SOW/contract requirements.

  • Perform and/or lead audits of internal payroll processes and third-party vendor activities; identify issues, escalate risks, and drive remediation.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience managing U.S. payroll operations (and international payroll exposure a plus).

  • Demonstrated expertise in risk and compliance within payroll (controls, audits, reporting, issue remediation).

  • Experience supporting executive benefits/compensation, including RSUs and PSUs.

  • Proven ability to manage third-party vendors, SLAs, and contractual deliverables.

  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable operating with sensitive/confidential data.
