Position Summary:
This position will fulfill training duties in support of the US Army’s Product Director (PD) Aerostats’ mission at Yuma Proving Grounds, Arizona


Job Description:

  • Plans and administers environmental, operational, or performance tests on aeronautical, electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, general industrial, experimental, automotive equipment, industrial machinery and equipment, controls, and systems, and other products and systems.
  • Designs and directs engineering and technical personnel in fabrication of testing and test-control apparatus and equipment.
  • Positions covered by this definition are characterized by the inclusion of work that requires an understanding of both theories and principles.
  • Excludes paraprofessional positions.
  • Coordinates and directs engineering activities concerned with the development, procurement installation, and calibration of instruments, equipment, and control devices required to test, telemeter, record, and reduce test data.
  • Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.
  • Directs and exercises control over operational, functional, and performance phases of tests.
  • Confers with scientific, engineering, and technical personnel to resolve testing problems, such as product or systems malfunctions, incomplete test data, and data interpretations considering such factors as conditions under which test was conducted and instrumentation, procedures, and phase of test used to obtain and record data.
  • Analyzes and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by engineering and management personnel.

Experience and Job Skills:

  • 5 or more years as a Test Engineer & working knowledge of DoDi 5000 & Defense Acquisition.
  • BA/BS or higher.
  • An additional 5 years of experience in a related field may be substituted for education.
  • A master’s degree or higher may be substituted for 3 years of experience if their degree is in a related field

Qualifications/Certifications:

  • Shall have a top secret (TS) clearance with the ability to obtain sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
