Role: PLC Engineer
Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin
Overview:
Looking for a Senior Controls & Automation Engineer to support plant operations by developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting test equipment, PLC/HMI systems, and electrical controls. The role focuses on ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while mentoring others and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and service test equipment & plant electrical systems
  • Develop test equipment specs, ensuring OSHA & NFPA 70E compliance
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve system issues
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and suppliers
  • Drive automation, controls, and process improvements

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years in controls/test engineering (5+ preferred)
  • PLC/HMI programming (Rockwell RSLogix, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk)
  • NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, Visual Basic/Studio, SQL
  • Strong knowledge of electrical equipment & schematics
  • Experience in electrical testing protocols & safety systems design

Preferred:

  • Project management (PROLaunch)
  • Experience in Engineered-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing
  • Strong leadership & ability to work independently
