Job description

Engineering – Mechanical Designer

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for creating new mechanical equipment designs, modifying existing designs, and verifying that designs are accurate and valid for the application. This position requires heavy attention to detail. This individual will work closely with the Engineering Manager, Sr. Project Engineers, and Project Management to create accurate and timely project drawings.

Daily activities will involve:

-Develop equipment design solutions to meet customer's application and specifications

-Develop comprehensive details of the equipment which will be used to communicate the design to the assembly staff as well as outside vendors for fabrication

-Develop a bill of materials for the equipment designed

-Interface with customers to verify project/equipment requirements

-Interface other departments (Sales through Service) on a daily basis

-Travel to customer facilities to take field measurements and discuss project details as needed

-Assist Engineering Manager in creating and maintaining engineering standards and procedures

-Review new projects with Sales and Controls Engineering to develop solid applications for quoting

-Actively participate in design review meetings

-Assist Service with Engineering related to field issues and warranty work

-Work effectively to complete projects within time constraints

Basic Requirements:

-High school diploma (Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred)

-Demonstrated OEM equipment design experience (conveyor design preferred)

-Must be detail-oriented

-Strong organization and communication skills. Must demonstrate ability to handle multiple

tasks effectively.

-Must have an excellent work ethic and take pride in work

-Experience with AutoCAD

-Experience with Inventor or other 3D design software

Preferred Experience:

- AutoCAD 3D (Inventor) or Solidworks experience

- Understanding of various product manufacturing processes as it relates to material handling
