About this role

Carrier Commercial Service has an opening for an experienced Controls Field Engineer. The Controls Field Engineer is responsible for the successful overall software design of projects, database creation, as well the implementation of the controls design and standards used in the programming and documentation of controls projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Job requires fieldwork with controllers and associated components

  • Highly qualified controls technicians preferred

  • Working knowledge with BAS systems, Carrier i-Vu knowledge is a plus

  • Complete each assigned project focusing on customer satisfaction and specification compliance while maintaining budgetary guidelines

  • Partner with sales function to set parameters for equipment needs and project timeline

  • Create submittals, read and understand project specifications and MEP drawing sets, controls and shop drawings

  • Document and track project completion with as-builts and final program notation with all field changes

  • Assemble Operation & Maintenance Manuals for completed projects.

  • Utilize company and as required customer standard programs for designing graphic function blocks for assigned projects.

  • Test project programs to ensure specified sequences of operation are met and performed accordingly to industry standards.

  • Inspect HVAC system including point-to-point, determining the proper operating ranges for field devices, as well as complete functional system checkouts

  • Conduct graphics engineering functions which include creating equipment and floor plan graphics per project documents.

  • Submit material orders for project-required materials to the purchasing group.

  • Assist in the development of functional checkpoints lists for commissioning and additional documentation requirements to commission the system or work with the Commissioning Agent.

  • Company vehicle provided.

  • Overtime compensation eligible.

  • Individual must be able to use ladders and carry up to 30 lbs of boxes.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of experience in Building Automation Systems

  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.

  • Valid and current Driver's License and can be insurable by the company's insurance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field.

  • Proficient with advanced building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls.

  • Ability to navigate and integrate into a variety of building automation systems.

  • Expert with TCP/IP networks including wireless technology.

  • Experience interacting with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines.

  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.

  • Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation

Thisposition may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
