Description
Integrion Automation (formally Wauseon Machine) is seeking a motivated Controls Engineer (PLC & Automation) to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will design, program, commission, and support automated manufacturing systems using PLCs, HMIs, and industrial robots. Working closely with our mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers, you will play a key role in delivering innovative automation solutions from concept through installation while providing ongoing technical support to our customers. This position would be reporting to the Controls & Electrical Engineering Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Program, troubleshoot and commission PLC-based control systems
• Develop and maintain robot programs for industrial robots
• Integrate sensors, drives, servos, robots and industrial networks
• Troubleshoot/Resolve system issues during development and production support
• Support equipment installation, testing, and start-up (on-site)
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering team members
• Participate in kickoff meetings, design reviews, project meetings, FATs, and SATs
• Maintain project milestone dates as specified in the project schedule
• Complete project documentation as required
Required Skills/Abilities:
• PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley preferred, additional brands a plus)
• Experience with industrial robot programming and integration
• HMI - Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc. programming experience
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Willingness to learn and train with new systems
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Efficient time management
• Willingness to travel to customer locations for system installation/support (up to 20%)
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
• Experience with motion control
• Vision System Integration
• Experience in manufacturing, process, or industrial environments
Education and Experience:
• A.S. in Engineering (B.S. preferred) and 2 years of experience or a minimum of 5 years of relevant
experience
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15-50 pounds occasionally.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Wauseon, Ohio facility and requires daily in-person attendance.
