As a Security Officer Part Time Controlled Entry in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Access Control Officer supporting a commercial real estate location, you will manage entry points, verify authorized access, monitor visitor activity, and maintain a professional presence that helps to deter incidents. You will deliver outstanding customer service, communicate clearly with tenants and visitors, and support security-related operations with integrity, reliability, and teamwork at Allied Universal.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate access-related records in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document events as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of commercial property common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to identify and report unusual conditions or access-control concerns.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access by maintaining awareness of activity at assigned entry points and following established escalation procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
