Job description

Responsibilities
Walpole Outdoors in Pittsfield, ME is seeking a Plant Controller to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all areas relating to the daily accounting operations and periodic financial reporting. The Controller will report to the company CFO.
Job Duties
  • Month End Close and financial statement preparation
  • Cost accounting and gross margin analysis
  • Comprehensive Cash management and forecasting
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable oversight
  • Customer collection support
  • Local and State tax compliance
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Adhoc analysis and reporting
  • Acquisition due diligence
  • ERP system design improvements
  • System and policy documentation and enforcement

Skills and Qualifications
  • Must have a BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the financial reporting / general ledger area. Experience working in a manufacturing environment (cost accounting) is strongly preferred
  • 3 to 7 years of prior management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP including financial reporting, auditing, and budgeting experience
  • Must be PC-proficient and have strong experience working with the Microsoft Suite.
  • Experience with SAGE (ERP) very desirable
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
