Job Description:
Job Purpose
To carry out activities of Electro-Mechanical Maintenance department to ensure that plant equipment is in optimal working condition.
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance functions
  • Perform a variety of equipment repairs
  • Perform general fabrication and machinist work
  • Troubleshoot problems as necessary
  • Take elective cross training
  • Assist in installation of new equipment and systems
  • Maintains appropriate paperwork of maintenance department activities
  • Ensures that the work area is kept clean
  • Be familiar with JHA, JSA, Job Process Maps and Environmental Management System for this position.
  • Ability to follow project documentation defining standards, detailed reports, specifications, plans, prints, schematics and/or other necessary documentation required to achieve defined project goals.
  • Basic knowledge of automation and process control systems that integrate PCs, PLCs, AC or DC Drives, Position Controllers, single or multi-loop controllers
  • Assist with internal or external engineering resources to ensure adherence to project goals and objectives.
  • Follow project management practices consistently throughout project and work assignments.
  • Follow plant electro-mechanical technicians on processes.
  • Maintain installation quality.
  • Perform other duties as necessary

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Possess knowledge, demonstrate competency in, and obey all applicable company, state, and federal safety policies, standards and regulations when working as a Louisiana-Pacific Corporation employee.
  • Possess the ability and desire to follow all safety rules, policies, standards and constantly demonstrate safe work practices while performing all job duties.
  • Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance functions
  • Knowledge of maintenance equipment and tools
  • Time management and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, micrometers, precision measuring instruments and written repair manuals
  • Ability to follow our maintenance management program
  • General knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Basic working knowledge of all HMI hardware in use
  • Basic working knowledge of AC & DC drives coordinated drives systems and position control systems.
  • Knowledge of medium and high voltage systems
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
  • Ability to function on multi-discipline or multi-functional teams

Education:
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 2 years post-secondary education or on-the-job training in a related field

Experience:
  • 2 - 5 years' electrical experience.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

Work Environment
