Job description

Summary of the Position: As a Controller you will be responsible for planning and directing the accounting operations of the Nestucca Ridge Family of Companies. You will oversee the people and processes of the day-to-day operation of the Accounting Department.
Key Accountabilities:
โ€ข Oversee the people and processes of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly, and annual financial statements, and bank reconciliations.
โ€ข Supports the Director of Accounting in the preparation of periodic financial statements, activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
โ€ข Owns Standard Operating Procedures documentation.
โ€ข Ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or international financial reporting standards.
โ€ข Oversee training programs and identify training needs.
โ€ข Ensure proper inventory practices are being upheld by all locations.
โ€ข Advise business units on and assist with implementation of accounting and budgeting policies.
โ€ข Execute recommended benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.
โ€ข Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
โ€ข Ensure all files are organized and ready for audit upon request.
โ€ข Monitors budget vs actual variances. Escalate to Director of Accounting when needed.
โ€ข Work with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.

Requirements
