Job description

We are looking for a full-time Accounting Receivable Specialist located at our Des Moines office. This individual will be responsible for providing accounting and clerical support to the Accounting Department. They do this by maintaining accounting document files and completing daily work the primary functions, accounts receivable and job costing.
The AR Specialist will approach responsibilities with professionalism and accuracy. Key duties include preparing accurate owner billings, entering and tracking invoices, and recording payments received as instructed by the Assistant Controller. They will maintain receivable records, generate reconciliation reports, monitor past due receivables and initiate necessary follow-up. This person will determine that proper lien documentation is received from the primary vendor and provide owners with appropriate documentation to uphold payment compliance. The ideal AR Specialist will support accounts payable as needed.
Skills & Qualifications include:
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with one to two years related experience and/or training as an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Possess problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, data analysis and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • This role involves working independently on a day-to-day basis while maintaining regular communication and collaboration with a manager and team located in a separate office.
  • Ability to work on occasional weekend and/or evening.
  • Occasional travel.
