Clinical Pharmacist - Controlled Substance Monitoring

Medical City Arlington

Shift: Full-Time, Days (weekdays only)

Job Summary and Qualifications
  • It is the responsibility of each employee to maximize the resources of the hospital. As a member of the Medical Center Arlington team, the employee makes a significant contribution to the public's perception of the hospital. The employee performs all services as they may relate to patient care/treatment with consideration for the age/condition of the patient. 
  • Patient populations served include infant to geriatric adult. 
  • The employee performs additional tasks/activities as assigned. 
  • Organization: proactively prioritizes needs and effectively manages resources, communicates clearly and concisely. 
  • Makes decision based upon job knowledge and experience. Considers all impacted areas in decision process. Seeks advise where applicable, judgment sensible and reliable. 
  • Establish and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting exceeding expectations. 
  • Able to work effectively with other employees, patients and external parties. 
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office, Meditech and purchasing vendor applications and others as required. 
  • Articulates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems. 
  • Able to perform mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately. 
  • Knowledge of medication indication/contraindications, common side effects, and usual doses a must. Should also have knowledge of "Safe Medication Practices" is required. Knowledge should also include utilization related items needed. Knowledge should also include utilization of information sources. A general knowledge of the requirements as dictated by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations is helpful. Texas State Board of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations is required knowledge base. 
  • Authorized to access secure drug and biological storage areas when completing a medication management orientation and when necessary to perform the assigned duties.
