Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold.

Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. ABOUT THE TEAM Anduril is fielding the next generation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to tackle the extremely challenging industry demands of seabed exploration.

Anduril has brought to the market a unique, ultra-long-range, full-ocean-depth platform, and a completely refreshed maritime vehicle and flexible manufacturing architecture that scales from "large" to "extra-large" vehicle sizes. Today, Anduril is executing on multi-million-dollar contracts while simultaneously performing Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) AUV operations. As our team continues to quickly grow, we are looking for motivated candidates that are inspired to work within an extremely energetic, creative, and innovative team that is passionate about subsea robotics and exploring the open ocean.

We work in a highly dynamic environment where collaboration and idea sharing are a way of life. ABOUT THE JOB We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our rapidly growing team in Quonset, RI. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing a manufacturing engineering team over a subset of Anduril's products to drive process improvements, ensure the highest quality of production, and support the development and implementation of new products.

You will play a crucial role in optimizing manufacturing processes, reducing costs, and increasing efficiencies on existing technologies while also developing new products and scaling to full scale production. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Lead and directly manage a small team of manufacturing engineers overseeing a product line or distinct value-stream within manufacturing. * Own the manufacturing readiness of new products through new product introduction (NPI) and into sustained production ensuring processes, work instructions, test coverage, and tooling are mature enough to scale.

* Balance team capacity between NPI and sustaining production collaborating closely with teams across US and Australia. * Run weekly one on one and team meetings, set prioritization focus, coordinate team scheduling, and provide concise status reporting. * Mentor and support junior manufacturing engineers and serve as a role model for manufacturing excellence.

* Deliver escalations to management with potential blockers, well-informed risk mitigation plans, and help needed. * Develop and execute strategic plans for manufacturing capacity and optimization. * Set standard for creation and review of technical drawings, blueprints, and process maps.

* Oversee the execution of manufacturing projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. * Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Design, Quality, and Supply Chain, to ensure smooth production ramp-up for new products. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science.

* 7+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware. * 3+ years demonstrated in-kind or direct team leadership skills, with backing examples. * Demonstrated track record of leading a team through aggressive timelines and resource trade-offs, making the prioritization, sequencing, and people-allocation decisions that support Production to get hardware out the door without compromising quality.

* Hands-on technical credibility having personally built, debugged, or repaired hardware in a production environment, and is comfortable being on the floor with technicians as the default operating mode. * High level of product ownership and adherence to manufacturing engineering best practices. * A strong passion for manufacturing and thirst for continuous improvement.

* Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.

* Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience in maritime robotics (AUVs, UUVs, USVs, subsea sensors).

* Experience managing a manufacturing-engineering team that is the receiving site of a design transfer: coordinating with a remote design organization, absorbing changes at production cadence, and providing structured feedback upstream. * Experience working with electrical systems up to 400VDc. * Experience with pressure vessels and/or industrial pressure test equipment.

* Prior experience working with JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), or Oracle (ERP) or equivalents. * Experience with large scale high mix manufacturing at different stages of product maturity. US Salary Range $126,000 - $176,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
