Job description

P.B. Brown is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage the building of a self-storage project in El Dorado Hills, CA. This project is due to start in September 2026. Must have experience managing ground-up commercial construction. Procore Management software experience is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide overall on-site supervisory and technical management on the construction project site. Ensure client satisfaction is maintained. High level of control in planning and coordinating field activities. Works closely with the Project Manager, often during the planning and buyout of the project.

  • Supervise total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed by design, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, A-E representatives, other contractors, etc.
  • Administer on-site safety program
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions and staff (engineering, material control, etc.)
  • Develop and manage project schedules using Outbuild/Procore/MS Project.
  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractors and ensure overall contractual performance.
  • Approve all project purchase requisitions, equipment rentals, etc.
  • Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc.
  • Implement and maintain tight quality control issues.
  • Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, management tools, standards, etc.
  • Review submittals for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
  • Review change order requests before submittal to owners.
  • Perform additional assignments per the Supervisor’s direction.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • OSHA 30 Certification required
  • 8+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent (commercial experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and safety regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors and trades
  • Proficiency with Procore construction management software
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Specialization in project sizes from $1 million to $15 million is a plus.
