Job description

Description

We are seeking a Logistician to support a Department of Defense (DoD) program providing lifecycle logistics, property accountability, Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T), and Integrated Product Support (IPS) for complex command and control systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), software, and support equipment are properly managed, transported, documented, and maintained throughout the system lifecycle in support of engineering, integration, testing, fielding, and sustainment activities. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, cybersecurity, configuration management, contracting, and program management teams to ensure equipment readiness and mission success while maintaining compliance with DoD and Navy logistics policies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) activities for Government-owned equipment supporting both CONUS and OCONUS operations.
  • Package, preserve, label, and mark equipment in accordance with Navy PHS&T policies, military standards, and applicable transportation regulations.
  • Prepare, process, and manage DD Form 1149 documentation and coordinate equipment transfers utilizing the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Maintain Government property accountability in accordance with DoD regulations, contractual requirements, and established property management procedures.
  • Coordinate procurement, receipt, inventory, transfer, shipment, storage, and final disposition of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), software, and associated support equipment.
  • Develop, maintain, and update logistics documentation including equipment inventories, shipping records, accountability documentation, and transportation packages.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments supporting engineering development, software integration, testing events, demonstrations, and fielding activities.
  • Support Software Integration Laboratory (SIL) operations by ensuring equipment availability, material readiness, and logistics documentation accuracy.
  • Develop and coordinate Integrated Product Support (IPS) activities supporting system fielding, sustainment, modernization, technology insertion, and lifecycle management.
  • Support engineering change implementation, hardware refresh efforts, configuration updates, and technology insertion initiatives by coordinating associated logistics activities.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), logistics planning meetings, technical reviews, and program management reviews by providing logistics status, readiness updates, and recommendations.
  • Identify logistics risks affecting schedule, equipment availability, or mission readiness and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, configuration management, cybersecurity, contracting, quality assurance, and program management personnel to ensure successful execution of logistics activities.
  • Prepare, analyze, and submit monthly Quality Assurance metrics and reports to Government leadership.
  • Evaluate QA trends and process performance, document discrepancies, and develop data-driven recommendations to improve quality, efficiency, and process compliance.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance software quality, installation accuracy, logistics execution, and overall mission readiness.
  • Ensure equipment and materials are available to support scheduled integration, testing, fielding, and operational activities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience supporting DoD or Federal logistics programs.
  • Experience with Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) accountability and lifecycle logistics management.
  • Knowledge of DoD property accountability regulations and logistics management practices.
  • Experience preparing and processing DD Form 1149 documentation.
  • Familiarity with Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or similar DoD logistics management systems.
  • Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments.
  • Knowledge of Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) requirements.
  • Experience supporting Integrated Product Support (IPS) and lifecycle sustainment activities.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Knowledge of configuration management processes and engineering change implementation.
  • Experience participating in Quality Assurance or Continuous Process Improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) planning and sustainment documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Equivalent combination of education and directly related DoD logistics experience may be considered.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
