Job description

We are seeking a Senior Financial Software Developer to support the development, modernization, and operation of enterprise financial accounting and forecasting applications. This role focuses on enhancing forecasting engines, supporting critical financial reporting processes, and delivering scalable solutions that support financial planning, analysis, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, enhance, and modernize financial accounting and forecasting applications.
  • Improve forecasting engine performance, scalability, and accuracy.
  • Support quarterly and annual financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, resolve defects, and reduce technical debt.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software using modern engineering practices.
  • Partner with Finance, FP&A, and technical teams to deliver new forecasting and reporting capabilities.
  • Support platform upgrades, infrastructure modernization, and technology adoption initiatives.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software development experience using Python, Java, or similar modern programming languages.
  • Strong SQL and relational database development skills.
  • Experience with Git, automated testing, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Podman.
  • Proficiency with shell scripting and application support.
  • Understanding of fixed-income concepts, including duration, convexity, spread, and OAS.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
  • CFA, FRM, CPA, or progress toward certification.
  • Experience gathering requirements and collaborating with business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Jira and related project management tools.
