Job description

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology Chemo Certified

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 4x10s | 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse with chemotherapy certification for a travel assignment in Los Angeles, California. The ideal candidate will provide specialized care to oncology patients in an outpatient clinical setting while safely administering chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications in accordance with oncology protocols

  • Assess, monitor, and evaluate oncology patients before, during, and after treatment

  • Provide patient and family education regarding cancer treatments, side effects, symptom management, and follow-up care

  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately to treatment-related complications

  • Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary care teams

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and maintain accurate clinical documentation in EPIC

  • Access and manage central venous access devices, including ports and PICC lines

  • Administer medications safely while adhering to ONS and facility guidelines

  • Support patient care coordination and treatment scheduling

  • Maintain compliance with infection control, patient safety, and regulatory standards

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient advocacy efforts

Requirements

  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License required

  • Minimum 2 years of Oncology Nursing experience required

  • Current BLS Certification (AHA or American Red Cross) required

  • Current ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification required

  • Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system required

  • Strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration, oncology treatments, and symptom management

  • Excellent communication, assessment, and critical-thinking skills

  • Outpatient Oncology experience preferred

  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) Certification preferred

  • Previous experience at a large academic medical center preferred
