Job description

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Serves as a key member of the report applications development team responsible for the creation, documentation, and support of company-wide core/standardized, ad hoc, scheduled, and analytical reporting from the company’s reporting databases.
  • Applies data analytics concepts to understand business questions, identify meaningful data relationships and trends, and develop reporting or analytical solutions that support business decision-making.
  • Translates business requirements and reporting needs into technical specifications, data requirements, queries, calculations, dashboards, and other practical analytics solutions.
  • Works closely with end users, business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to gather requirements, define expected outputs, and ensure proper testing and validation of reporting and analytical solutions.
  • Responsible for importing, exporting, aggregating, transforming, and processing data company-wide.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains reports, dashboards, data extracts, and analytical tools using appropriate reporting and business intelligence technologies.
  • Assists analysts and developers with the design, development, and maintenance of data warehousing and data integration projects.
  • Meets with internal and external reporting customers to define the Inputs, Process, and Outputs related to specific reporting activities or events.
  • Documents created reports, dashboards, data processes, calculations, business rules, and changes to existing reporting solutions.
  • Standardizes reports and analytical outputs company-wide to promote consistency, accuracy, usability, and data integrity.
  • Is responsible for the on-time running, monitoring, and distribution of reports and extracted data files.
  • Optimizes or fine-tunes slow-running reports, queries, dashboards, and data processes.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains Extracting, Transforming, and Loading (ETL) functions and other data integration processes supporting reporting systems.
  • Develops solutions to automate the execution, distribution, and monitoring of large volumes of reports and recurring data processes.
  • Uses programming, scripting, or automation techniques when appropriate to improve reporting efficiency, data processing, and analytical capabilities.
  • Provides end-user training on report-writing, reporting, analytics, and business intelligence tools and supports users in ad hoc report creation.
  • Troubleshoots problems in reporting systems, data processes, dashboards, and analytical solutions and works with appropriate technical resources to resolve issues.
  • Has the ability to multi-task and work on several projects at once while effectively managing priorities, deadlines, and competing business requirements.

RREQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Systems Analysis and Design, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of data analytics, including the ability to understand business questions, interpret data, identify trends and relationships, and translate analytical needs into effective reporting or data solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand reporting and analytics requirements and determine how data, systems, queries, tools, and processes should work together to produce accurate and useful results.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with MS-SQL and accomplished as a query writer preferred.
  • Experience with SSIS and MySQL preferred.
  • Experience with Python, Power BI, or similar programming, analytics, visualization, or business intelligence tools preferred.
  • Working knowledge of business intelligence (BI) tools preferred. Experience with QlikView is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with JReports, MPower, or other business reporting and analytics tools preferred.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, data extracts, automated reporting processes, or other data-driven solutions preferred.
  • Pharmacy knowledge or Healthcare industry background very helpful.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

PHYSCIAL DEMANDS 

Requires sitting, standing, and occasional light to medium lifting. The position also requires extended periods of computer use and the ability to work with multiple data, reporting, and business applications.
