Contractual Critical Infrastructure Engineer Jobs

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Critical Infrastructure Engineer. Position Type: Full-Time, Contract to Hire
Duration: 6 months
Location: Charlotte NC 28217 (Onsite)
Shift: Second shift (11pm to 8am) Sunday through Thursday As a Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will:
• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical electrical infrastructure within the data center.
• Ensure continuous availability of power systems including:
o UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems
o Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
o Diesel/Natural Gas Generators
o Switchgear and electrical distribution systems
o Static transfer switches
• Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on all critical systems.
• Respond to system alarms, failures, and incidents in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
• Support capacity planning and infrastructure improvements to meet growth and reliability goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and company policies (NFPA, OSHA, etc.).
• Assist in commissioning and integration of new electrical systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3–7+ years of experience in critical facilities or data center operations.
• Hands-on experience with:
o UPS systems (Liebert, APC, Eaton, or equivalent)
o Generators and paralleling systems
o ATS / STS systems
o Medium- and low-voltage switchgear
• Strong understanding of power distribution and redundancy models (N, N+1, 2N).
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and incident response.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams and schematics.
• Familiarity with DCIM or BMS monitoring tools. Nice to Have:

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: $45-$55 per hour
